Student Council
The St. Ignatius Loyola Student Council allows students to learn about leadership while helping to represent fellow students. The council shares students' ideas with school faculty and establishes service projects as appropriate.
An executive council, president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary, are elected by all students. Students in grades 7 & 8 running for the executive council are required to write and deliver a short speech during lunch periods. These speeches allow the students to express to the whole student body why they would be a good choice to represent the school.
Representatives in grades 4-8 are elected by their homeroom peers.
The Student Council currently sponsors a recycling program and hosts hot chocolate days in the winter.
It's not about ideas.
It's about making
ideas happen.
